Edition and Editorial Note
Author: Open Inquiry Research Group. Publishing imprint: Open Inquiry Editions. Website and dissemination brand: Open Inquiry Network.
This edition contains the Preface, Introduction, and Chapters 1–39. It follows the adopted English translation of the current Chinese text, retaining the author’s concepts, arguments, examples, and judgments. The Chinese edition retains the character forms of its adopted text and the existing forms of legal titles and quotations.
The closing “Cited Sources and Their Uses” and “Scope of Source Support” are editorial appendices. In accordance with the author’s account of the writing process, the listed works should not be treated as a record of reading on which the author actually relied when developing the theory. The later addition of citations does not imply endorsement by the cited scholars or institutions. These materials assist retrieval, limited scholarly comparison, and checking institutional examples; they do not replace the book’s argument.
This edition corrects the author–translator attribution in Note S03, supplies three complete article titles, and refines selected page references in S01, S02, S03, S04, and S06. These publication corrections leave the uses and limits stated in the notes, and the author’s main text, unchanged. Chapter-end notes use stable F and S identifiers; the source appendix uses R identifiers.
The English and Chinese editions follow the same adopted text. English legal titles are editorial translations, not claimed official translations. The jurisdictions, years, subject limits, and reading scope specified in the appendices remain applicable. Inclusion in the bibliography does not mean that an entire paper or statute has been comprehensively verified.
